Veterinarian

We are a top-of-the-line animal hospital for pets in West Asheville, Candler, Woodfin, and surrounding cities. Our facility was built in 2021 with state-of-the-art tech, no animal hospital in Buncombe County offers better technology than WAFV.

Position Purpose:

We are currently a two-doctor practice, and we are very excited to add a new veterinarian to our team! We are seeking a personable, enthusiastic, and motivated associate veterinarian to join our team! We welcome veterinarians of all experience levels as our doctors are enthusiastic to share their knowledge and mentor a recent graduate.

Our hospital would be great for DVMs of varying interests as our services provided include a wide array of preventative medicine, wellness care, dentistry, and surgery. We have a wonderful work environment and a leadership team to support your goals. Our staff is very friendly, collaborative, and considerate. We take pride in our long-standing and dedicated clientele that allows us to practice quality medicine

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Examine and treat companion animals to detect and determine the nature of disease or injuries.
  • Interpret diagnostic results.
  • Advise pet owners on preventative care and treatment options.
  • Perform surgery and prescribe medication as needed.
  • Provide counsel around pet end of life care.
  • Maintain patients’ medical records.
  • Ensures compliance with veterinary ethics and relevant statues, policies, and procedures.

Requirements/Qualifications:

  • DVM/VMD degree from an accredited AVMA institution.
  • Appropriate state licensure.
  • Eligibility to obtain DEA/BNDD.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrates professional and courteous presentation consistently with staff and clients.
  • Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 25 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 25 pounds with assistance.

Pay Range: $ USD $100,000.00 – USD $120,000.00 /Yr.

Externship

Position Purpose

Come extern with us! Heartland Veterinary Partners’ Externship Program works to provide 1st-4th year veterinary students with hands-on experience and mentorship to help have them ‘practice ready’ by their first day in practice.  Externships are typically 2 weeks long and Heartland will cover the cost of lodging if needed. Length of externship is flexible & we can support your preceptorship documentation as well.
